Description
English: These true-color images of Indonesia were acquired by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer in mid-May 2002. Fire season was not fully underway in the region, and skies over the large island of Borneo, with Malaysia at its northwest coast, are cloud-covered, but not hazy with air pollution. The horizontally situated island of java appears to be experiencing some haze at its western end, and a few scattered fires (red dots) were detected. These images were acquired on May 17 and 19, 2002.
