The inventor of the language, Sonja Lang, reports that over 3,000 copies of her book have been sold, which teaches Toki Pona.  There is a private group on Facebook where discussion happens exclusively in Toki Pona, i.e.  without English, and there are 486 active members. The general Toki Pona discussion group on Facebook has 3238 members, who regularly discuss in Toki Pona or about Toki Pona.
